Project Day 1

Today in class we started a new project. We have to pick two countries and find a problem in each and solve it with a solution. There were four captains picked and they went to the front of the room. They each took turns writing on paper who they wanted in their group. It was done this way so that nobody knew who was picked first or last by each person and no one would feel left out. Once they picked, which seemed to have taken a long time, we got together in our groups. We picked what countries we wanted and told them to Mr. Schick. After that he explained what we should do and said we should use the CIA World Factbook website. Our group is me, Sam, Karlee, Claire, and Andrew. We chose Germany and Columbia. Our problem for Columbia is that. Their GDP is bad and the only reason they even have one is because they are all drug dealers. We are their biggest customer. Our solution is to ramp up the drug production and keep selling them to rich americans who then ruin their lives by getting addicted to drugs. Or they could stop selling drugs and grow a lot of crops instead like coffee, flowers, and corn. (third largest coffee exporter and second largest cut flower exporter). That is all we have so far.
